Chancellor's Certificate in Excel
Excel is arguably one of the world’s most widely used software applications. Its ability to create simple spreadsheets, combined with powerful automation, graphing, and data manipulation features, make Excel an essential business tool that can be used at a variety of skill levels. 

This certificate is designed for those who wish to become knowledgeable on the many capabilities of Excel. Learn to use the options that will save you time and make your spreadsheet design more efficient. Discover ways to isolate data, create effective charts, and automate your work with macros.

Prerequisites
You should be proficient with the Windows environment and be able to find files, create folders, organize and manage files and folders, work with multiple windows, and share data between applications via the Clipboard. You are required to complete any prerequisites listed for certificate classes. (These classes will not count toward the required 36hours.) Be sure to check the course descriptions for specific prerequisites.

Certificate Class Requirements
A minimum of 36 hours is required - 12 hours from the Core Classes, 6 from Data Analysis, 6 from Visualizing Data, and 12 from Electives.

Core Classes (minimum 12 hours required)
Introduction to Excel
Intermediate Applications of Excel
Advanced Applications of Excel

Data Analysis (minimum 6 hours required)
Special Topics in Excel: Data Manipulation
Special Topics in Excel: Formulas and Functions

Visualizing Data (minimum 6 hours required)
Creating Charts with Excel
Accelerated Topics in Excel: Introduction to PivotTables (3 hours)
Accelerated Topics in Excel: Intermediate PivotTables (3 hours)

Electives (minimum 12 hours required)
Accelerated Topics in Excel: Importing Access Data (3 hours)
Excel Macros (12 hours)

Or any classes listed in the categories above.

Certificate Requirements
Complete the application form and return it with your $25 nonrefundable fee. All classes must be completed through the University of Missouri-St. Louis Computer Education & Training Center within two years of submitting the application. (Note: Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis; submitting the application and paying the fee doesn't guarantee a seat in any class.)

If you have completed one or more of these classes through the Computer Education & Training Center in the 24 months prior to completing your application, they may be applied to this certificate. You can list these classes on your application form. Granting approval for these classes depends on verification of satisfactory completion of each class.

Note: A class can be applied to only one specialized certificate.

Note: You do not have to be enrolled in the Certificate program to take these classes.

Note: You also receive CEUs for successful completion of each class. Students completing the Excel Chancellor's Certificate receive at least 3.6 CEUs. The hours completed in these classes will also be applied toward the 96-hour Chancellor's Certificate on the Computer. Other certificates are also available.
