Introduction to the iPad

Learn to effectively customize your iPad so that the device best serves your intended purpose. Understand the settings app and learn to adjust parameters as your needs evolve. Learn to customize your notifications and set up the notification center to receive information and updates you need without it being a burden. Discover the key concepts behind working with the cloud and how to use it to your advantage. Master security and privacy settings to keep your information secure. Learn to move and organize your apps into folders as well as eliminate apps you no longer need. Learn to organize photos with the built-in app. Topics include security and privacy features necessary to protect and limit access to your data, battery management, backups, and using iCloud to manage your device. Additional topics include managing notifications, navigation shortcuts, searching, managing apps in the background, organizing apps, troubleshooting options, and other tips and tricks.

iPad Productivity

(Prerequisite: Introduction to the iPad or equivalent experience.) Learn to be more productive with your iPad and save time with common tasks. Discover the hidden tips and tricks that can make you more effective. Understand how to share information and how context matters when using the share sheet. Learn to share links, photos, documents, and other content as well as how to customize the share sheet. Develop the skills to multi-task and drag and drop documents and photos on your iPad. Master using the browser to locate the information you need and learn to use the available browser options including tabs, bookmarks, reading lists, saving images, autofill, sharing settings, and private browsing. Additional topics include note-taking, annotating, traveling tips, keyboard shortcuts, and other productivity tips.

Document Management on the iPad

(Prerequisite: Introduction to the iPad or equivalent experience. The iPad Productivity class is also recommended prior to taking this class.) Learn to effectively manage documents on the iPad and share files between apps, transfer files to other people as well as best practices for keeping your files organized. Understand how documents are stored on the iPad, how to locate your documents, how file type affects your options, and how to best share documents with others on collaborative projects. Discover the magic behind the cloud, how to use iCloud Drive to your advantage, and how to integrate the iPad with other Cloud storage platforms. Learn multiple methods for transferring data, documents, and photos to other computers and mobile devices. Topics include sharing files and data with apps and other people, syncing, working with office documents, transferring files wirelessly, document management strategies, and collaboration using cloud storage.
